PARIS — Longtime Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School boys basketball coach Scott Graffam was a guest of honor at Maine School Administrative District 17’s board meeting Monday night.
Superintendent Heather Manchester invited Graffam to be honored by directors and administrators following his recent induction into the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame.
Graffam graduated from Medomak Valley High School in Waldoboro and Colby College in Waterville, where he was a three-year letter athlete.
Four years ago he was inducted into Maine’s Midcoast Sports Hall of Fame.
Manchester told the board that Graffam has logged 432 wins over 40 years, coaching teams at Medomak Valley, Scarborough and Oxford Hills.
In 2022 he led the Vikings’ boys basketball team to the Class AA Northern Regional Championship, and in 1994 the team won the Class A Western Maine Championship. This season marks Graffam’s 33rd year coaching at OHCHS.
Graffam’s daughter Bailey Graffam and grandchildren Lydia Reichert and Holden Reichert accompanied him as he was given a standing ovation by the Oxford Hills School Board.
