Scott Hanson apologizes for reporting death of former POTUS who is still alive

Scott Hanson, host of NFL Red Zone, had to issue an apology during Sunday’s program after accidentally announcing the death of former President of the United States, Jimmy Carter, who is still alive at age 99.

Hanson is focused on calling every NFL game that has an offense in the red zone each Sunday for nearly 10 hours straight, so it’s understandable he would make a mistake when breaking news happened.

Carter’s wife and former First Lady, Rosalynn Carter, was actually the one who died at age 96 on Sunday.

Hanson realized his mistake and apologized for the blunder, though it didn’t go beyond a few people trolling him online.

The former POTUS released a statement regarding his wife’s passing, in which he calls her his “equal partner in everything.”

“Rosalynn was my equal partner in everything I ever accomplished,” Carter said. “She gave me wise guidance and encouragement when I needed it. As long as Rosalynn was in the world, I always knew somebody loved and supported me.”
